Percussion positions available at Burlington HS

April 23rd of 2019 by

Burlington High School is seeking Percussion Instructors beginning in May/June 2019. There are currently two vacancies for both battery and front ensemble specialists. Last year's fall program included 9 battery members (3-2-4) and 8 front ensemble members.

The marching band program at Burlington will be competing at several competitive regional events, including NESBA Championships, and plans to continue expanding its involvement in the pageantry arts, including a Winter Percussion program. The students, staff, band directors, parents and school administrators are committed to the success of our program.

The Marching Band performs primarily at NESBA competitions on Saturdays, as well as
Friday night football games. The fall season begins with a Spring Training process that brings in incoming 8th grade students to participate in rehearsals twice a week during the month of May. We also have two weeks of Band Camp in August (from 8:30 AM-3:30 PM) starting on August 12th. The rehearsal schedule is Monday evenings from 5:30-8:30 PM and Thursday afternoons from 3:30-5:30 PM. The full schedule can be found at burlingtonband.weebly.com/calendar.

Current pay is a stipend position through the Town of Burlington - approximately $3,150 for Band Camp and the fall season. Future pay and involvement with Winter Percussion is open to discussion as program continues to grow.

Please send a resumé and/or any questions you may have to Sean Buchsbaum, Director of Bands, at sbuchsbaum@bpsk12.org.
