For 2011 Paperless Judging System 12/29

For the 2011 winter season, NESBA will be moving away from handing out the judges sheets and only distributing recaps at the end of each event. The paperless judging system has been used in many areas of the country and WGI is now going paperless as well. The topics of digital judging and paperless systems will be discussed at the January General Body Meeting.

What you will get at a winter show now.  After you hand in your flash drive, you will get back a class or so after you perform your electronic files with the judges comments. At the end of the guard or percussion section of the show (to prepare for critique) you will get a recap sheet for the show.  That is it.. simple, easy and effective to help all of us move forward with new technology and reduce wasting paper.

It will be important for all staff members to review the sheets that are located in the WGI guard and percussion manuals that are now posted on our website under the GUARD tab and the PERCUSSION tab.  Judges while they are judging, will have one copy of each sheet with them for all of the classes we offer:  All Concert and Marching Classes  for percussion and Regional, A, Open and World for guard.

It is the job of the judges to do as they always did..  rate and rank units in each class.  The judging system and our classifications have not changed at all.
